Founded by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in 1860 in Sonvilier, Switzerland, the last 150 years has seen Chopard grow to be one of the world’s leading luxury watch and fine jewelry brands. Today we take a look at the Chopard men’s watches collections, which range from the sporty to the elegant.
Chopard Men’s Watches: Racing Collection
Driven by the adrenaline-fueled spirit of motorsports, the Chopard Racing Collection actually includes three distinct watch models: Mille Miglia, GPMH, and Superfast.
The original Mille Miglia race took place between 1927 and 1957 and had cars racing on roads in Brescia, Italy, rather than on a track. In the 1970s, the historic race was revived again in the 1970s, but this time as a classic car endurance race. Chopard partnered with the event in the 1980s and today, the brand offers the Mille Miglia men’s watch collection featuring vintage-inspired Mille Miglia Classic models and modern Mille Miglia GTS watches.
The GPMH (Grand Prix de Monaco Historique) Chopard men’s watches are also a tribute to a famous car race, but this time the Monaco Historic Grand Prix. The race made its debut in 1997 to showcase historical motorcars and takes place every two years, two weeks prior to the F1 Monaco Grand Prix on the very same circuit. As a result, the Chopard watches in the GPMH collection are inspired by the design of some key classic cars that partake in the event.
Finally, rounding out the Chopard men’s watches Racing Collection is the Superfast lineup. Bold, large, and ultra-modern, the Chopard Superfast watches embody the excitement of the fast-paced lifestyle of motor racing. This family of watches also includes timepiece tributes to the Porsche Motorsport LMP1 racing team—of which Chopard is an official timekeeper of.
Chopard Men’s Watches: L.U.C Collection
Named after the founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard, and drawing on design elements from traditional horology, the L.U.C Chopard men’s watch collection offers an elegant range of timepieces.
From simple time only models to grand complications fitted with haute horology’s most complex mechanisms to the artistic Urushi models utilizing Japanese enameling techniques, the L.U.C. collection is where Chopard flexes its technical and design mastery.
Chopard Men’s Watches: Classic Collection
The Classic collection of men’s watches takes its design cues from vintage Chopard pocket watches and other traditional timepieces.
Flaunting time-honored aesthetics and exceptional mechanics—including some models that run on an in-house Manufacture movement—the Chopard Classics watches are well suited for those who appreciate understated sophistication.
